Proven process for revitalizing water floods

I was visiting with a president of a small company at lunch one day. He remarked that he had a tired old water flood. He wanted to “get rid of it.”
In times of unstable commodity prices, wise oil and gas engineers are turning their attention to existing water floods. They want to get the most out of these legacy floods.
Optiflood is Proven's proprietary process for increasing production and reserves from existing floods. It gets you the most out of your legacy water floods. Optiflood results
Using Optiflood, Proven has rejuvenated many tired old floods. We almost always improve oil rate and reserve recovery. In fact, on 95% of the pools we review we find ways to add more than $20 million in net asset value.
We used it to add value to one of our clients a Northern field by drilling infill wells in attic locations in a mature waterflood. Through optimization of water production shut off and introduction of high volume lift in this well, we added $23 million of value to our client.
In another flood we showed one operator how to improve sweep and recovery without even drilling a single well. It only took some Optiflood pattern balancing.
In one Northern Alberta flood we found that the well spacing was too far apart using Optiflood. We found ways to increase flood support, production and reserves and finally added %50 million to the asset value.
In another classic case, Optiflood pointed out that water was not being injected into the right places in the reservoir. Reactivating injectors and rebalancing injection improved production from underperforming patterns.
Tuning water floods using Optiflood can improve production significantly. In one small flood Proven reviewed, we found a new infill well location that produced clean oil when all the rest of the tired wells had a water cut of 70%. Result: we added $4 MM of NAV for that one well alone.
